Jekyll and Hyde is music and stage directed by Michael Malloy; with assistant directing duties fulfilled by Evan W. Snyder. The core production staff is rounded out by choreographer Gina Veith.

Malloy, a Neumann University alumnus with studies in Arts Production and Performance, comes full circle directing this production of Jekyll and Hyde. In 2001, as a fresh-faced high school senior at Cardinal O’Hara High School in Broomall, Malloy himself played the dual roles of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in the musical. A talented actor, musician, and performer himself, Malloy is a strict and creative director, bringing professionalism and dedication to this production along with nearly a decade of ideas of how he himself would present Jekyll and Hyde given the chance. The 2010 season his chance and Center Stage Productions welcomes his talent.

An evocative tale of the epic battle between good and evil, Jekyll and Hyde is the story about a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality create a murderous counterpart. Convinced the cure for his father’s mental illness lies in the separation of Man’s evil nature from his good, Dr. Henry Jekyll, portrayed Sean Wilcox, unwittingly unleashes his own dark side, wreaking havoc in the streets of late 19th century London as the savage, maniacal Edward Hyde. The consequences tear apart the lives of Jekyll’s betrothed Emma Carew, portrayed by Meghan Hickey; and Lucy, a prostitute and actress, portrayed by Christine Girolami, who is inexplicably drawn to the madness of Hyde.

Jekyll and Hyde is a musical based on the novel, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. The original stage conception was by Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn. The book and lyrics are by Leslie Bricusse. The music is by Wildhorn with orchestrations by Kim Scharnberg and arrangements by Jason Howland.

A dark and sensual musical theatre phenomenon, Jekyll and Hyde attracted a cult of loyal fans even before the show began its Broadway run.
